Offering an unforgettable design experience and endless interior inspiration, the Artek Helsinki store in Finland is a true embodiment of Finnish design. Located in the heart of Finland’s capital, Artek Helsinki sits in a historical building designed by famed Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen. Spread across two different levels, the Artek Helsinki store includes an impressive line up of some of Finland’s most prestigious home décor as well as the whole Artek collection. The range of items is carefully curated with both design classics and modern design by Artek, Vitra and more Finland-based brands.

Keeping Artek’s Mission Alive

The Artek brand was founded in 1935 by iconic architect Alvar Aalto and his peers, and the storefront stands to keep the brand’s design heritage alive. The founders’ original goal was “to sell furniture and to promote a modern culture of living by exhibitions and other educational means.” Almost a century later, Artek Helsinki continues to do just that. Upon entering the store, visitors are met with Aalto’s famed L-leg furniture, such as the iconic Stool 60 and Paimio Chair. The Artek Helsinki store actively aims to embody the brand’s philosophy of “Art and Technology,” hence the name “Artek.” The store showcases classic and contemporary furniture such as dining sets, lounge chairs, benches, light fixtures and more. Beyond furniture, the store also carries plenty of textiles, fabrics, curtains, rugs and home décor. The bright interior and display design highlights the beauty of these products and enhances the overall shopper experience.

Exclusive Products & Experiences

This one-of-a-kind design hub offers exclusive products and experiences to shoppers. Included are product launches straight from trade fairs and Artek Helsinki specials, which are only available at the location. Also featured is a wellness section that carries Aesop products for body, skin and hair can only be found here. An expanded selection of books and magazines are also regularly updated, all offering insight and updates from the fields of design, architecture, art, and lifestyle. Visitors can also experience the Stool Customization Workshop. Here, the parts of Alvar Aalto Stool 60 and E60 can be customized directly on site. After a day of shopping and exploring, visitors can enjoy the plant corner for a relaxing break.

Community & Creation

Artek Helsinki is not only a retail space but retains Artek’s role as a cultural and community-driven platform in the city. The store frequently hosts events and stages collaborations with Finnish and international artists, designers, and authors. There are temporary exhibitions about art and architecture that serves to educate about the past and present of design. This ensures a constant renewal of creativity while blending old and new, an important principle in Finnish design culture.

Through its thoughtful creation and engagement with local communities, the Helsinki Store acts as a living museum of modern design. Ensuring quality, sustainability and innovation with each and every piece, shoppers will be more than pleased with whatever treasures they take home.
