MARIMEKKO – A Whole Life: 60 Years of Colors, Stripes and Shapes

Author ChadLatest UpdateJun 30, 20230856

In eight days the Design Museum in Helsinki will unveil its newest exhibition, “MARIMEKKO – A Whole Life: 60 Years of Colors, Stripes and Shapes” which will showcase all things Marimekko. This is not the first time the museum has featured an exhibit on Marimekko. In 1986 it presented “The Marimekko Phenomenon,” a wildly popular exhibition that celebrated the company’s 35th anniversary. Withstanding the test of time, 25 years later the Marimekko movement is still going strong.

Marimekko – A Whole Life; beautifully chronicles Marimekko’s 60-year history through a colorful and visually stimulating experience. A journey down mod memory lane, this exhibition will arouse nostalgic memories as the collection displays over 4,000 pieces of clothing, fabric and images that archive the wonderful world of Marimekko. Can’t make it to the exhibit? Visit FinnStyle for a wide selection of timeless Marimekko style.
